The Nike Academy program is a more advanced program for U9 & U10 players to supplement Colorado United’s Academy program at these age groups. The Nike Academy program provides an avenue for players that are committed to soccer as a priority sport and have above average soccer ability. The program will help prepare soccer players to play competitively at U11. This dynamic program focuses on the development of each player’s individual skill as well as increasing their tactical understanding of the game.

• Nike Academy teams will practice at a centralized location, this will help increase their exposure to United’s philosophy and provide like team scrimmage and cross training opportunities.

• Each team will practice 3 times a week. The majority of teams will have professionally licensed coaches as the team’s head coaches.

• Teams will play at the Silver or higher level of Colorado Soccer Association’s Intermediate league.

• Players are placed on teams based upon each player’s individual ability.

• Player movement between teams can occur based upon the growth of each player’s development and understanding of the game.

• Each player’s commitment to this program includes playing in a minimum of 4 – 5 tournaments a year, including off season (winter & summer) training participation.

• United’s Nike Academy Program promotes an attractive, possession orientated style of play and follows the US Soccer Curriculum.
